On Friday evening, Coretex presented the award for Hi-Tech Emerging Company of the Year, to Ask Nicely, at the Hi-Tech Awards in Christchurch.
Ask Nicely – a developer of customer feedback software to help businesses accelerate revenue growth using the Net Promoter Score (NPS) framework – were selected from five very strong finalists in the category.
Ask Nicely’s entry covered every aspect of what fuels and makes a Kiwi success story on the international stage. With over 1 million customer surveys per week, and supporting big brands such as Shimano, JetStar, Reddit and Xero, Ask Nicely is a company to watch as it goes from strength to strength.
Coretex proudly supports the Hi-Tech Awards which have celebrated the efforts of the hi-tech sector in New Zealand for more than two decades. Back in 1995 when they were known as the Excellence Awards, then Prime Minister Jim Bolger was surprised to discover there was a thriving hi-tech community in New Zealand. So surprised in fact, that the PM’s department came back three times querying the export figures for the sector that the Awards Committee supplied, believing the figures to be too high. That disbelief, sometimes from government, sometimes from other sectors of the economy, that what we in the hi-tech sector do is significant for the New Zealand economy, is something many hi-tech companies will have experienced over the years.
This is one reason being part of the Awards is so important to Coretex. The Awards celebrate truly inspiring people, who are creating innovative businesses and, in many cases, taking them to the world stage. It’s never easy and going global from New Zealand is not for the faint hearted. Coretex understands the challenges and how dedicated you need to be to achieve your goals.
Amongst the previous winners of the Emerging Company Award are those that have gone on to thrive both locally and internationally and others that have transitioned their success into a sale to a foreign buyer. Many of the founders of those companies take their experience in going global and pour it back into new ventures, continuing to drive the growth of the hi-tech sector and provide a future for our economy that looks beyond primary industries.
Being a finalist in the Emerging Company category means you’re on that journey full of challenges. Ask Nicely, after celebrating their win, can now set their sights on returning to collect the ultimate honour within the hi-tech community, the New Zealand Hi-Tech Company of the Year Award.
