JLT Transport signs insurance deal with International Telematics

May 27, 2015

Telematics and insurance have long been affiliated with one another worldwide. This week world-leading New Zealand telematics company International Telematics Limited (ITL) has announced a partnership with global company JLT, one of the world’s largest insurance brokers, to offer general truck and specialised transportation cover for ITL’s large and rapidly growing customer base.

JLT Transport (a division of JLT New Zealand Ltd) is well-known in the New Zealand market as a partner to both National Road Carriers and the New Zealand Trucking Association; teaming up with one of NZ’s largest telematics provider now offers significant benefits for ITL customers.

Through the partnership, ITL customers will be rewarded for proactive on-road risk management, by qualifying for incentives on JLT Transport services based on the level to which the customer is able to mitigate their own risk through the use of ITL’s telematics technology.

ITL General Manager – Australasia, Stephen Brown explains further. “If for example, one of our customers utilises our ibright® telematics platform for their fleet, that attracts one level of premium discount.  If they also use our CHECK-MATE® product, which provides detailed live feedback on driver behaviour, they are eligible for even more incentives, because they can use that information to constantly monitor and improve that on-road behaviour.”

JLT’s Divisional Manager, Philip Clauzel is looking forward to the partnership. “ITL’s ibright® eRUC and CHECKMATE telematics solutions are world-leading, and their client base includes some of the countries largest transport operators.  It’s a natural fit for us to partner with them and offer ITL’s customers tailored packages that reflect the extent to which those operators are mitigating their own risk on the road.”

Stephen Brown is pleased with the deal too. “These sorts of strategic alliances with respected providers such as JLT Transport provide real value-added services for our customers, and we are constantly looking for ways to enhance our service offering to customers and make ITL more relevant to their business.”
